Pensacola Beach

Well, I normally don't post items unless it's a change of scenery or different location; however, today was an exceptional day.

It started with one of Char's close friends getting married at the County Courthouse and Char was Ami's witness.  Then this evening Ami and Mark's friends all met at Pensacola Beach to celebrate the event.  While it wasn't a typical reception, it was a fun gathering at a restaurant overlooking Pensacola Bay.  Adding to the evening' festivities was a lighted boat parade and fireworks display over the water.  Pretty awesome.  I took some pictures, but they will probably come out as just specks on the horizon while in reality they were up close and personal.  Quite a gathering of people out on the docks and beach in front of us, many of whom left at the same time as we did.  You can imagine the traffic as there is only one bridge at that end of Pensacola Beach.  I'll send you all a link to the photos that Char and I took in an email later.

While Char was performing her "witness" duties at the County Courthouse, I decided to be helpful and do some yard work.  One of the reasons that I live in an apartment now is because I didn't want any yard work or house repairs.  I guess it's different if its' not yours and you just enjoying working outside.  Anyway, it was fun working in the yard - everything here grows so well and it's all green.  Char has a huge yard with all kinds of flowers, plants, trees (even a lemon tree) and a swimming pool - but it's too cold for that right now.

Tomorrow George will be home for the weekend, so we'll get some time together.  During the week, he commutes to the Porch Creek Indian Reservation where he is the head of the medical department.  Therefore, he leaves early in the morning and comes home late in the evening.

Weather today was fantastic, quite a change from what you folks in North Dakota, Washington, New York, and Vermont are experiencing.  Nice working outside in a tee shirt and soaking up the sun (didn't want to rub it in but couldn't resist).

Take care.
